Life Intersections
Experiencing Jesus, Encouraging people and Enriching community should be a part of our daily life. In fact, these would be great review questions for us as we complete each day.“Experiencing Jesus” – Think about the ways you have experienced Jesus each day. Was it through your own time of personal devotion? Was it as you experienced the kindness of a Christian friend? Or perhaps, when you reached out to help someone in need and saw gratitude in their eyes? Be aware each day of how Jesus comes to you, your day and life will be much better for it.
“Encouraging People” – Jesus was a people builder, he never sought to tear people down. Even when there was the need to show people their sin, Jesus always would follow with words of hope and encouragement. Jesus is your encourager, too! He is always by your side to give you that extra lift when you seem to need it. Stay in touch with Him through prayer, Bible study and Holy Communion and you will be encouraged.
Just as Jesus is our encourager, He wants you to be the encourager of others, to build others up rather than be a part of tearing them down. Be aware of those who are in need of some kind words or actions. Not only will you be Encouraging People, you will also Experience Jesus.
“Enriching Community” – Matthew 5: 13-14, says that “You are the salt of the earth…. You are the light of the world”. Salt adds flavor to food. Light allows you to see. “Let you light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven”, Matthew 5:16. Our faith is something we are not to keep to ourselves but to let others see it through us. That doesn’t mean you have to carry your Bible and talk about Jesus wherever you go. It does mean that you can reflect and let others see Jesus by your words, action and deeds. Living out your faith among others Enriches Community.
As you Enrich Community, you will be Encouraging Others and you will Experience Jesus. Are you beginning to see how all this goes together? Start each day with these goals in mind and see what happens to your day!
